Arden Street 04:08
Arden Street ©2019 Allan Noble Took a walk down Arden Street To see the place that I come from Everything was changing I felt the world I knew was gone It was surreal, that's how it seemed It was a dream within a dream Feel my time was coming Different birds are singing I hear the town bells ringing Caught a bus on Arden Street The sea was shining in the sun Sat with a girl with a backpack on She closed her eyes as I sat down It was a light into the sky It happened right before my eyes Thundering of blue sky I wonder who would know why I thought I heard her sigh Took a bus on Arden Street I saw the ferris wheel go round Now it's melting in the heat I took a bus on Arden Street Why tell me why It's all in pieces in the sky And every thing is beauty Thousand angels singing I hear the sirens singing

Walking Dead Waltz ©2019 Allan Noble How high the moon So dark the night How slow the wind through the trees It's a long lonely journey I carry a light And the shadows are following me I took a walk by the seashore at night I heard leviathans sing in the deep How I wish I could be there with them Down in the place where leviathans sleep Here on the land It's a different dance We take one step forward, two back Stumble and fall And a lurch to the right We listen like we're in a trance We do the walking dead waltz The walking dead waltz We do the walking dead waltz The walking dead waltz I took a walk by the seashore at night I heard leviathans sing in the deep How I wish I could be there with them Down in the place where leviathans sleep How high the moon So dark the night How slow the wind through the trees It's a long lonely journey I carry a light And the shadows are following me I took a walk by the seashore at night I heard leviathans sing in the deep How I wish I could be there with them Down in the place where leviathans sleep Took a walk by the seashore at night I heard leviathans sing in the deep How I wish I could be there with them Down in the place where leviathans sleep

Hitman 04:14
Hitman ©2019Allan Noble Manny was a hitman Cheroots, fedora hats He had it all up against it all Sharp as a crease - and that's that Not a good man, but not all bad He was good to the ones he loved The way he died was kinda sad, But maybe not sad enough Hitman, hitman He never knew who'd knock on his door '81 in the Sydney wars Shots would ricochet all around town Settling gangland scores I was working cabs, down not out Got a call to a Randwick flat Manny stood in the floodlit drive Teeth bared, eyes like a rat He said: "You think you know what goes on in this town?" "You think you know what goes on in this town?" Hitman, hitman An outlaw's war is rarely won It's only buying time You'll never know what comes out of a gun Like love, justice is blind Dirty crimes, dangerous times Gangland wars the papers said 3 weeks on the radio blares That Manny the hitman's dead Hitman, hitman, hitman, hitman

Sorcery ©2019 Allan Noble I'm gonna tell everybody in the orld What you're doing to me And I don't know how you do it What you're doing is a mystery I don't know any more if I want to be free There's only one thing it could be Sorcery I wake up in the morning And I think that well it must be a dream Everything just feels different But when I look it's still the way that it seems I can't understand all the changes in me There's only one thing it could be Sorcery I never did believe in miracles from heaven above I'm as cagey as the devil - I'm too clever for love You take my eyes then you tell me what you want to see There's only one thing it could be Sorcery

Withers On The Vine ©2019Allan Noble I've got a feeling That you don't care for me no more It's in the little things you do and say We stood in sunshine How the shadows line our face We look away Somethings died I can't tell the reason why Somehow it all just slipped away Now it echoes in my mind And there's nowhere I can find To hide away Is there some way for us to age the wine? Seems like everything I try Withers on the vine Withers on the vine Somethings died I can't tell the reason why Somehow it all just slipped away There's a cold wind blowing outside And there's nowhere I can find To hide away Is there some way for us to age the wine? Seems like everything I try Withers on the vine Withers on the vine Is there some way for us to age the wine? Seems like everything I try Withers on the vine Withers on the vine

about

My earliest musical memories are of lying underneath the stereogram in our home in Scotland. I don't know why it was necessary to lie underneath it and not just listen to it from a chair like civilised people. Maybe I liked the echo chamber effect down there. Music has always been like a feast to me and I block everything else out. My old man was a Jim Reeves fan and I would absorb the deep resonant baritone on "He'll Have to Go", "the Blizzard" etc.

Beatles hysteria hit and myself and 3 other kids grabbed some mops from the school janitor's cupboard and did an impromptu "She Loves You" from the ramparts. Migrating to Oz I found the beach, surfing and the music of the day was the Doors, Hendrix, Cream. I find it difficult to name influences and sources because with music one thing leads to another and it becomes endless extrapolation. Jimmy Page said once that his biggest influence on acoustic guitar was the Irish folkie Bert Jansch. Not something that would immediately occur to anyone but when you listen to Bron Y Aur you can hear it distinctly. I find it fascinating that one artist can take another's vision, put it through their own lens and produce something new and interesting. Then of course there is inspiration that seems to arrive of its own accord. I am untrained musically and pursue it through personal interest. Outside of some high school and garage bands I have not really performed publicly and see myself more as a songwriter than performer. That being said its immensely enjoyable getting involved in the musical co-op of The PBGB Shed.
